Thank you taking the time to find out more information about your PTO. We are here to support you and your children. We are an informal group of volunteer parents, guardians, and teachers. If you have not yet joined or renewed your membership for the 2007-2008 school year please complete and return the form enclosed in the school information pack mailed in mid July or pick up/request a form from the school office

It is only through the time, hard work and energy of our parent volunteers that we can make a positive impact on the academic lives of our children and their school environment. Funds raised last year enabled us to make significant contributions to: professional development programs for teachers and staff, financial aid assistance, community outreach, graduation and playground equipment. We also funded a Thanksgiving feast for students and teachers, a school/church picnic, and several teacher appreciation luncheons and breakfasts.
Become involved in PTO sponsored events like the Book Fair, Harvest Moon Festival, Spaghetti Dinner, Thanksgiving Feast and Gift Wrap. One of the most rewarding opportunities to be a part of your child's day is through our
"Share Lunch With Your Child" program.
Other committees that make a real impact at St. James are Hospitality, Membership and Red Ribbon Week. We have something for everyone. If you can't volunteer, try to attend a meeting or meetings! You'll find new friends and other like minded parents.
We are aiming for 100% membership of PTO this year. If you are unable to attend meetings, joining is a great way to support the PTO (only $20.00!) So please sign up and join, review our minutes and our agenda. I welcome e-mail with your thoughts, ideas and suggestions atjillhole@aol.com

Our PTO meetings are informal and held monthly. Be a part of the discussions on how the PTO can best support our school. They last about an hour, ending just in time for dismissal. The meetings for this school year will be as follows:

SEPTEMBER 20, OCTOBER 18, NOVEMBER 15, DECEMBER 13,
2008 - JANUARY 17, FEBRUARY 21, MARCH 13, APRIL 17, MAY 15.
